Sony has been chosen to connect Ibiza’s biggest bars and nightclubs.
An installation of 80 of Sony’s brand new eco-friendly public displays has been announced across clubs and bars in Ibiza, designed to deliver advertising and promotional content to some of the island’s biggest and most established venues.
This is the first installation to feature the latest eco-friendly 46 and 55-inch Sony HD displays that were announced in May. They have been designed to deliver outstanding performance in environments with bright ambient lighting and operating at around 35 per cent lower power consumption than previous models. Fitting in with AirBlocks’ commitment to environmentally friendly solutions, the unique features of the Sony public displays reduces running costs and carbon emissions, making them the perfect choice for the company.
Outdoor advertising has previously been difficult in Ibiza, there have been a number of challenges for brands looking to reach the lucrative jet setters that flood the island in high season from June to September. With rival promoters battling for space on a daily basis to advertise the latest nights in some of Ibiza’s hundreds of clubs and bars, the AirBlocks’ solution, with Sony displays, provides party goers with a digital information hub, delivering the latest information on nights out as well as premium advertising content from lifestyle and FMCG companies.
Ibiza is the undisputed Mecca of music attracting over 4 million visitors over the season and Airblocks’ seamless displays, free wireless and interactive app network has already partnered with 31 of Ibiza’s most legendary bars and nightclubs including Space, Ocean Beach Club and Es Paradis, with rights for more displays and venues next year. The wireless network solution can also be used by multiple venues under the same ownership to host content on a closed loop promoting sister bars and clubs on the island.
Steve Loftus, Managing Director at AVC Media Ltd. commented “Sony’s global reputation as a manufacturer of audio, video, communications and information technology made them the natural partner of choice for AVC’s AirBlocks concept launching across Europe. The latest public displays have enabled us to provide a long term solution that is both cost-effective and eco-friendly, allowing us to realise our ambitions of digitizing the outdoor advertising industry in Ibiza and enhancing the experience for those on the White Isle. We’re the first company to target what is a key group for advertisers when they are concentrated in one place and serve them relevant, targeted marketing they can absorb in a social environment.”
The product fulfilment and logistics were managed by Sony distribution partners Owl Visual, who have been working closely with AVC Media and Sony throughout the roll out. Neil Colgate, General Manager, Owl Visual said “Sony’s new displays perfectly fit the market demand for a more aesthetically pleasing consumer-focussed product for dedicated commercial uses.”
Ian Baugh, Displays Channel Account Manager, Sony Europe added, “Sony is at the forefront of digital display technology and an exciting partnership like this enables us to showcase our unique solutions to an increasingly expanding area of the market. We are delighted that the very first of our brand new public displays are being used by AirBlocks in one of the world’s entertainment capitals.”
